Work With me
Testimonials
“Keith gave me impressive new perspectives on my novel manuscript, showing me underdeveloped aspects that were in my blindspot. His comments were uncompromising, but always delivered with compassion, clarity, and in the spirit of helpfulness. My work is all the better for Keith having seen it.” — Matthew Fox, author of This Is It and Cities of Weather
“Keith Cadieux was fantastic to work with as an editor. He has an amazing sense of how an entire collection of stories can cohere. When he was editing my short story collection, he had a knack for knowing the literary and cultural references I was writing with which made me feel comfortable taking creative risks and trying something new. Working with Keith is collaborative and very positive— I would particularly recommend his assistance to horror writers, but Keith is an excellent editor regardless of genre.” Amy LeBlanc, author of Homebodies
“Keith was terrific to work with while editing my first novel. His ideas and suggestions sharpened both my story and my prose. No matter how tight the deadlines, he stayed cool, which made everything easier.” Robyn Braun, author of The Head
In addition to being a horror writer, I’m also a freelance editor. I’ve worked with several independent publishers and also directly with authors. I’ve edited nonfiction, short fiction, and novels. I’ve also taught creative writing at the university, worked as a mentor with the Manitoba Writers’ Guild, and led several writing workshops through libraries and writing festivals.
I’d be happy to discuss your project and see if we’re a good fit. Rates are determined on a per-project basis. Factors such as the length of the work, the type of editing needed (structural or substantive editing, stylistic editing, copy editing/proofreading). I also provide manuscript evaluations.
